Child Care
In India, 40% of children suffer from malnutrition and 22% live in poverty, resulting in 1.4 million preventable deaths under age 5 annually. Child labour, trafficking, and lack of education increase the problem.
Did you know that 17 million Indian children work instead of attending school, 50% drop out by age 14 (UNICEF), and 1 in 3 are malnourished ? Moreover, 33% of child labourers are between 5-14 years old, every 8 minutes a child goes missing in India (NCRB), and 46% of Indian children suffer from health issues due to poor nutrition. These shocking numbers show that many children have difficult childhoods, struggle with lifelong poverty, and are at risk of harm or exploitation.
Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) play a vital role in childcare. They provide protection safeguarding children from exploitation, abuse, and promoting child rights and policy changes. NGOs also support education, development, health and nutrition through schools, scholarships, and vocational training, medical care, immunizations, and food assistance. Additionally, they offer shelter and care through orphanages, foster care, and group homes . With society’s collective support, NGOs can create a bright future for all children. Let’s Work together for these efforts! Donate, volunteer, or spread awareness to ensure every child receives quality education, healthcare, and a safe environment.
