Women

In India, women face numerous challenges, including gender-based violence, limited access to education and healthcare, and economic inequality. Poverty, old-fashioned ideas, and lack of knowledge make things worse for Indian women. As a result, 48% women face Domestic violence .

Did you know that 27% of Indian women are married before age 18, 65% face workplace harassment , and every hour, a shocking 5 women are raped? Furthermore India ranks 108th in global gender equality rankings. These statistics underscore the urgency for change. NGOs play a vital role in empowering women. They support survivors of domestic violence, trafficking, and sexual assault, and promote entrepreneurship, microfinance, and job opportunities. Through community building, advocacy, and policy reforms, NGOs have improved women’s literacy rates, economic independence, access to healthcare, protection from violence, and participation in decision-making processes.

NGOs alone cannot overcome these issues. It is essential for society as a whole to recognize the importance of gender equality and actively support the work of NGOs.

To support their efforts, individuals can donate, volunteer, spread awareness, support women-led initiatives, and advocate for policy changes, ultimately contributing to a more equitable society for women.

Let’s Together, create a society where all women can live free from violence, discrimination, and inequality.
